Top Weekly Gaming Laptop Deals!

Hello deal hunters!

We’ve found a record low price in this week’s gaming laptop deals:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070

RAM: 32GB LPDDR5X-6400

Display: 14” 2880 x 1800 120Hz OLED

SSD: 1TB

$1599.99 at Best Buy
Save $400 (20%)
Was $1999.99

Comments: This is the lowest price we’ve seen so far on the G14 with RTX 4070 graphics.

It’s one of our favorite 14” gaming laptops at the moment, with Lenovo’s Legion Slim 5 being the other (but that maxes out at 4060).

This is $500 more expensive compared to the 4060 G14 when on sale (they’re actually the same price right now, makes no sense). That’s a fair bit of extra money for the 20% FPS boost in games the 4070 gets you, but the 4070 config also has double the RAM.

Considering memory is soldered and can never be upgraded, it may be worth spending more for this 4070 model if you’re considering the G14.

CPU: Intel Core i7-13620H

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070

RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800

Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 144Hz

SSD: 1TB

$1049.99 at Best Buy
Save $350 (25%)
Was $1399.99

Comments: This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this sale, but its still a great price for an RTX 4070 gaming laptop.

It’s a way better deal compared to the newer TUF F16 in any case, which has a dimmer display, lower 4060 GPU, and currently costs $250 more.

The 4070 TUF has gone on sale for $999 in the past, but that one had an older processor with DDR4 RAM.

CPU: Intel Core i7-13650HX

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060

RAM: 16GB DDR5

Display: 16” 1920 × 1080 165Hz

SSD: 1TB

Was $1399.99

Comments: Don’t get me wrong, this is on the higher side for an RTX 4060 gaming laptop, but it’s the second lowest price we’ve seen so far for this model recently.

We reviewed it positively last year, and it was around $60 cheaper a few weeks ago during Prime Day sales, but if you missed out this deal isn’t that too much more.

I suspect you may need to wait until Black Friday in November if you’re hoping to find it cheaper.

Tip of the Week - Do You Need a MUX Switch?

Most gaming laptops these days have a MUX switch, which allows you to get an FPS boost in games by disabling the integrated graphics.

This works becuase the frames generated on the more powerful discrete graphics no longer have to pass through the integrated graphics on their way to displaying on the screen - a bottleneck is removed.

Since Microsoft’s CASO update, this feature doesn’t matter anywhere near as much as it used to - at least in laptops that support the feature (CPU must be Ryzen 6000/Intel 11th gen or newer).

Basically this means that cheaper gaming laptops without a MUX switch shouldn’t actually perform that much worse than those that have one.

We publish a list of gaming laptops that do and don’t have a MUX switch / Advanced Optimus here: https://jarrods.tech/list-of-gaming-laptops-with-mux-switch/
