This Week's Laptop Deals Are Here!
Here are the best gaming laptop sales
Hello deal hunters!
The best gaming laptop deals of the week are here:
This Week’s Best Deals
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7235HS GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4050 RAM: 12GB DDR5-4800 Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 144Hz SSD: 512GB $579.99 at Best Buy What’s Good: Lenovo’s LOQ is one of the best budget friendly gaming laptops we’ve tested, and at this price it’s also one of the cheaper RTX 4050 options available. What’s Not: The RTX 4050 is limited to 6GB of VRAM, which can still run most games well at 1080p, but there are a number of titles where the 4050 is starting to show its age - Refer to the video of the week below for details. |
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600 Display: 16” 1920 × 1200 144Hz SSD: 1TB $1499.99 at Best Buy What’s Good: Excellent price to performance ratio, lots of value here. What’s Not: The RTX 5070 Ti is overkill for the 1920 × 1200 screen, and based on our testing the screen likely doesn’t have the best colors. That said, if you plan on connecting a monitor or just want the cheapest RTX 5070 Ti laptop performance available right now - this is it. |
CPU: AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600 Display: 16” 1920 × 1200 165Hz display SSD: 512GB $1529.99 at HP What’s Good: Better build quality compared to the MSI Vector above for only $30 more, also better battery life as AMD processors tend to be more power efficient than Intel. What’s Not: Like the MSI Vector above, the 5070 Ti would be better paired with a 1440p screen - that’s why the price is so much lower compared to most other 5070 Ti options. But you can upgrade the screen to 2560 × 1600 240Hz panel for $60 when customizing, which we think is worth it. |
CPU: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti RAM: 32GB LPDDR5X-8000 Display: 14” 2880 × 1800 120Hz OLED SSD: 1TB $1999.99 at Best Buy What’s Good: This is the best 14” gaming laptop we’ve tested all year so far. It’s great all round with excellent build quality, long battery life, a beautiful OLED screen, high performance, great speakers, all in a thinner and lighter package. What’s Not: The smaller size means upgrades are limited to just 1 M.2 storage slot and the Wi-Fi card - RAM is soldered and can never be upgraded, but 32GB should be plenty for most tasks for years to come. The middle of the keyboard can get hot under load, but the WASD area/wrist rest you touch while gaming remains cool. |
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti RAM: 32GB LPDDR5-6400 Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 240Hz OLED SSD: 1TB $2199.99 at B&H What’s Good: The Legion Pro 7i is one of the best high-end gaming laptops we’ve tested all year. That said, gaming performance will be simialr to the cheaper laptops listed above with the same 5070 Ti graphics. But the Legion offers more premium features, including OLED screen, faster RAM and a faster processor. What’s Not: Things to be aware of are the larger than average 400W charger, it’s definitely not as portable as the G14 above - but it also performs better too, that’s the tradeoff. Want more power? The higher tier RTX 5080 model is also currently at a record low price for $2799.99 at B&H. Based on our testing, the 5080 is 18% faster than the 5070 Ti at 1440p, and 23% faster at 4K, so that and the extra 33% more VRAM may be worth the 27% higher cost. Plus the SSD is twice the size. |
These are some nice deals - but sales change over time. Our https://gaminglaptop.deals website is updated multiple times a day, so check it out regularly to save money 🤑
Video of the Week
Nvidia’s new RTX 5050 graphics is here, but how much better is it compared to the 4050, and is it worth the extra money? I’ve compared both GPUs in 25 games to find out 👇
Tip of the Week - Same specs - different performance?
Two gaming laptops with the same GPU can perform vastly different - take this example in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p high settings:
Laptop 1 with RTX 5060: 81 FPS
Laptop 2 with RTX 5060: 93 FPS
That’s a 15% FPS boost with laptop 2 despite it having the same GPU, so what’s the difference?
It’s the GPU power limit (and a CPU difference to less of a degree).
Laptop 1 is Alienware’s Aurora 16 which runs the RTX 5060 at 80W, while Laptop 2 is Alienware’s higher tier Aurora 16X, which runs the RTX 5060 at 95-115W.
More power equals more performance, but it also results in more heat. Cheaper laptops like the Aurora 16 are able to lower price by using less materials (e.g. smaller cooler, lower powered charger), but the compromise is it ends up performing closer to RTX 5050 laptops in the tier below.
Fortunately these days most laptop spec sheets list at least the maximum GPU power limit, which is helpful. But ultimately your best bet is to check our laptop reviews and see how different laptops actually perform in games.
