Hello deal hunters!

Was $1999.99

Comments: This laptop tied for first place in last year’s top 5 best laptops video.

It’s the lightest 16” gaming laptop I’ve ever tested and perfect if your priority is on portability.

The OLED screen looks great, the speakers sound good, build quality is solid - it’s good all round. The only exception is the soldered memory, which cannot be upgraded.

I still think it’s worth it though - check out my full review if you want more details.

This isn’t the lowest price we’ve ever seen this model on sale for, but it’s only about $70 higher, which is an excellent deal with the current unknowns of tariffs still lingering.

CPU: Intel Core i5-12450H

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2050

RAM: 8GB DDR4-3200

Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 144Hz

SSD: 512GB

$399.99 at Target
Save $400 (50%)
Was $799.99

Comments: Look, RTX 2050 graphics are fairly low end when it comes to gaming laptops.

But if you’ve only got $400 to spend, this is one of the best options we’ve seen in recent months.

The 2050 can still run modern games at 1080p, just expect to use low to medium settings. You can get an idea of FPS in 20+ games from when I tested it here.

CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5080

RAM: 32GB DDR5-6400

Display: 16” 3200 × 1800 240Hz

SSD: 2TB

$2654.99 at Dell
Save $645 (24%)
Was $3299.99

Comments: If you’re looking for something with more power, the RTX 5080 graphics have you covered with similar FPS in games to the last gen 4090 - so any game at 1440p or even 4K with some DLSS is no problem.

We haven’t listed too many 5080 deals yet, but this is one of the lowest prices we’ve seen so far.

We just got this laptop in to review a couple of days ago, and it’s going well so far. Not sure when this sale will end, but likely before our review is out unfortunately as we still have a lot to work through.

These are some nice deals - but sales change over time. Our https://gaminglaptop.deals website is updated multiple times a day, so check it out regularly to save money 🤑

Video of the Week - RTX 50 Laptops Redeemed?

I recently compared Nvidia’s RTX 4090 and 5090 laptop GPUs, only to find a very small difference.

But Nvidia has released a driver update that boosts the performance of the RTX 50 series in games!

I’ve re-tested it after the driver update to see the differences 👇

Tip of the Week - “Futureproofing”

Don’t fall for the myth of future-proofing - Spending more money on a higher tier gaming laptop may not be the answer!

Sure, a more expensive laptop might offer you better performance and features today, but it’s not the best move for most people.

Let’s say you have two options:

  1. Buy a solid mid-range gaming laptop today for $1200

  2. Buy a high-end gaming laptop today for $2400

Most people would be better off sticking to option 1 - Here’s why.

The reality is that in 4+ years, both laptops are going to struggle playing the latest and greatest games with good settings anyway.

Yeah, the higher cost laptop will age better and last longer - But not enough to account for the improvements that come from future hardware generations (unless they all turn out like RTX 50 series 😅).

If you spend $1200 today, you could spend the other $1200 in 3-4 years on another solid mid-range option. That mid-range option years from now will run better than the 3-4 year old laptop over the next few years.

Alright, these are our favorite gaming laptop deals of the week! Did we miss something you have your eyes on 👀? Reply and let us know!
