Comments: This is one of the cheapest RTX 5060 gaming laptops we’ve ever seen!

This laptop has extremely good battery life, thermals are excellent, build quality is decent, it’s got solid upgrade options, a customizable BIOS, good Linux support, and the screen looks good in terms of colors and brightness.

Unfortunately the screen response time is slow, so not ideal for fast paced competitive gaming, but based on user reviews most people don’t notice.

Comments: This is one of the cheapest RTX 5070 deals we’ve seen so far.

From our review, this is one of the lightest and most portable 16” gaming laptops out there. Performance in games is decent despite the power limited 5070, battery life is excellent, Linux support is solid, and the keyboard and touchpad feel nice to use.

The 2560 × 1600 screen with 8GB VRAM might be tough in some games, so just be aware that you might have to lower settings in some titles (refer to video of the week below).

Comments: This one is only $200 off, but it’s the cheapest we’ve ever seen it available for, and it’s a great price for an RTX 5070 Ti gaming laptop.

Overall we reviewed this model fairly positively, it’s got a thin design, beautiful OLED screen, the internals run relatively cool, battery life is better than last gen, and the 5070 Ti means 12GB VRAM.

Comments: I’m currently working on the full review of this laptop for next week, but so far it’s very impressive if you’re after something portable, yet powerful.

Yeah, it doesn’t perform quite as well as bigger 16” laptops with the same specs, but it’s often not too far behind in games.

Battery life is excellent, the OLED screen looks great, the CNC aluminum chassis feels solid and premium, and the speakers are amazing for a gaming laptop.

Of course smaller laptop means upgrade options are very limited, and the middle of the keyboard can get warm while gaming, but the spots you touch (WASD keys) stay surprisingly cool.

Comments: This is the cheapest gaming laptop with RTX 5080 graphics available at the moment.

The main things to be aware of is the heavier weight, the lack of advanced optimus, and the fans can get loud if you go out of your way to increase them - but we’ve got full details in our review.

The lower tier RTX 5070 Ti version is also on sale at a record low price of $1574.99, but note that one has a lower quality 1920×1200 144Hz screen. The 5080 is around 20% faster in games than the 5070 Ti based on our testing, and it also gets you 16GB VRAM which should be plenty for the life of the laptop.

These are some nice deals - but sales change over time. Our https://gaminglaptop.deals website is updated multiple times a day, so check it out regularly to save money 🤑

Video of the Week - Is 8GB VRAM Enough for Gaming?

I recently teamed up with Steve from Hardware Unboxed (aka the VRAM testing king) to find out, and spoiler, if you’ve got the budget you’re better off going for a 5070 Ti or above to get 12GB VRAM.

Tip of the Week - How often should you buy a new gaming laptop?

  1. When your old laptop doesn’t do the job - This is ultimately what it comes down to. If you can’t play modern games smoothly at acceptable settings and you’ve already tried lowering settings, then it’s probably time to consider an upgrade.

  2. You want newer tech or features - If you’ve got an older gaming laptop with GTX graphics then you can’t take advantage of DLSS upscaling. An upgrade to RTX graphics would provide this improvement, and is an example of how newer hardware can offer the latest advancements.

Point 1 is more important as it considers what’s critical, while point 2 is more about “nice to haves”. We discuss this topic in a bit more depth here: https://gaminglaptop.deals/how-often-should-you-buy-a-new-gaming-laptop/
