New Gaming Laptop Deals
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 260 GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060 8GB RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600 Display: 15.1” 2560 × 1600 165Hz OLED SSD: 512GB $949 at Walmart Comments: Not only is this one of the cheapest RTX 5060 gaming laptop deals we’ve ever seen, it’s one of the best mid-range models too! The Legion 5 is portable, has great build quality, solid battery life, and a beautiful OLED screen. The CPU is last gen Zen 4 - essentially the same as the 7840HS - but it’s still a capable 8 core/16 thread chip. The 8 gigs of VRAM could be a limit at the native resolution in some games, for the reasons covered here, but you can always tweak settings, use upscaling features like DLSS, or run at a lower resolution if needed. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 240 GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5050 8GB RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600 Display: 16.1” 1920 × 1080 144Hz SSD: 512GB $699 at Walmart Comments: This is the best price we’ve seen on an RTX 5050 gaming laptop so far. Based on our testing, the 5050 is only a little behind the last gen RTX 4060 that came out almost three years ago - and this is cheaper than most 4060 deals we’ve shared, meaning this Nitro delivers great value at the lower end. Unlike the older RTX 4050, the newer 5050 gets you 8GB of VRAM instead of 6GB, which is a good match for the 1080p screen. If you’d like to boost the CPU up from 6 cores/12 threads to 8 cores/16 threads, that option is also available for an extra $50. |
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285H GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti 12GB RAM: 32GB LPDDR5X-7467 RAM Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 240Hz OLED SSD: 1TB $2299.99 at Best Buy Comments: This is one of my favorite gaming laptops, and I personally bought this exact configuration for my own laptop - I’ve reviewed it here. It’s one of the thinnest and lightest 16” options available, so great for portability, but it can still pack a punch. Yeah, the RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPU isn’t quite full powered like thicker laptops, but it still delivers excellent performance. Downsides include soldered RAM that can’t be upgraded, but I’d expect 32 gigs to be a nice sweet spot for gaming for the life of this product. This deal might not look amazing in terms of the discount %, but it’s the lowest we’ve tracked so far if you’ve had your eye on the Zephyrus. That said, if you’re after RTX 5070 Ti graphics in a portable laptop, Acer’s Helios Neo 16S is significantly cheaper at $1599.99 right now. |
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5080 16GB RAM: 32GB DDR5-6400 Display: 18” 2560 × 1600 300Hz SSD: 1TB $2549.99 at Dell Comments: Still want more power? Alienware’s 18 inch beast has you covered! Fact is, games look bigger on a bigger screen, as long as portability isn’t quite as important to you at least. Unfortunately the screen isn’t Mini-LED, but it’s still bright, has good colors and a fast response time making it a great option for gamers. Build quality feels solid, cooling is great, and it even has rare features no other laptops have like 4K camera, 5 gigabit ethernet, and an optional mechanical keyboard. Our review only dropped a couple of days ago if you want all the details. |
