Amazon’s Prime day sale is here!

But all the other brands are getting in on the sales too - here are the best deals we’ve found so far!

This Week’s Best Deals

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7700S 8GB

RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800

Display: 16” 1920 × 1200 165Hz

SSD: 512GB

$679.99 at Best Buy
Save $420 (38%)
Was $1099.99

Comments: This deal is kind of crazy. The RX 7700S graphics performs similarly to Nvidia’s RTX 4060 from our testing, and 4060 laptops usually cost a fair bit more than this.

Yeah, you miss out on features like DLSS, but with FSR 3.1 recently launching and FSR offering frame generation, the feature gap between AMD Radeon and Nvidia GeForce is starting to close.

That said, DLSS still has the advantage - but you have to spend more to get it with the 4060.

CPU: Intel Core i7-13650HX

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB

RAM: 16GB DDR5

Display: 16” 1920 × 1200 165Hz

SSD: 512GB

$969.99 at Amazon (Prime Members Only)
Save $180 (16%)
Was $1149.99

Comments: This is on the more expensive side out of the RTX 4060 gaming laptops we’ve got listed at the moment, but it’s also a more premium option.

I recently put this laptop in 3rd place in my recent top 5 video, as I think it’s a good choice, and this is one of the few times it’s actually had a good sale in the last few months.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4050 6GB

RAM: 8GB DDR5

Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 144Hz

SSD: 512GB

$599 at Walmart
Save $380 (39%)
Was $979

Comments: This is the cheapest we’ve seen an RTX 4050 gaming laptop in a decent chassis. Yeah, it’s been this price if not lower in cheaper designs like MSI’s GF63/Thin 15, but HP’s Victus is better than that.

There are definitely comproimses here, like just 8GB of RAM (though you can always upgrade in future if needed) and I suspect the screen has a low color gamut (it’s not specified on the spec sheet, but highly likely).

But in terms of price to performance ratio, this is tough to beat for $600, which normally only gets you an RTX 3050 laptop at best.

Video of the Week - Best Time to Buy a Gaming Laptop?

There are 3 times each year when you can save the most amount of money on a new gaming laptop - and we’re actually in one right now! Find out when the great times to buy are 👇

Tip of the Week

How often should you buy a new gaming laptop?

  1. When your old laptop doesn’t do the job - This is ultimately what it comes down to. If you can’t play modern games smoothly at acceptable settings and you’ve already tried lowering settings, then it’s probably time to consider an upgrade.

  2. You want newer tech or features - If you’ve got an older gaming laptop with GTX graphics then you can’t take advantage of DLSS upscaling. Of course you can still use FSR, but this is one example where an upgrade to RTX graphics would provide an improvement.

  3. You don’t have a gaming laptop - If you don’t have a gaming laptop yet but would like one, you’re in the right place to find the best deals 😊

Point 1 is more important than point 2 as it considers what’s critical, while point 2 is more about “nice to haves”.
