New Week, New Laptop Deals!

Here are the best gaming laptop sales

Hello deal hunters!

The best gaming laptop deals of the week are here:

This Week’s Best Deals

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS

Comments: Lenovo’s Legion Slim 5 is a solid mid-range gaming laptop based on our review, and this is a nice price for one of the better RTX 4070 laptops.

RTX 4070 gaming laptops go for anywhere between $900 and $1800+ depending on the model. $900 is the lowest we’ve seen so far in HP’s budget Victus series, while $1800+ gets you a more premium model like Lenovo’s Legion 7i.

My point is, $1150 is on the lower end of the RTX 4070 price range for a great performing laptop with nice features and specs.

The CPU is Zen 3, so a couple of generations behind latest at this point, but game performance is still solid in most titles at the higher 2560 by 1600 resolution, as good FPS at higher resolution usually depends more on the GPU.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4050

RAM: 8GB DDR5

Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 144Hz

SSD: 512GB

Comments: We’ve had this deal listed for a few weeks now - that’s why it’s at the bottom of the deals site, newer deals show closer to the top of our list.

But hundreds of you have joined this mailing list since we last mentioned it, and fact is it’s still the best budget option at this price point.

In the recent past, $600 only got you older RTX 3050 graphics with an older processor. So the fact that we’ve got faster RTX 4050 graphics here and a modern CPU is impressive for the price.

Yeah, it only has 8GB of RAM, but that’s to be expected for the lower price. The Victus has 2x memory slots, so you can always upgrade to more memory in future if you end up needing more.

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900HX

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090

RAM: 32GB DDR5-5600

Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 240Hz

SSD: 1TB

Comments: This one is at the opposite end of the price spectrum from the last listing!

We’ve seen this laptop go for slightly less in the past, but that was the older 2023 model with 13th gen processor.

This is the best price we’ve seen so far for the newer 2024 model with RTX 4090 graphics.

The RTX 4080 configuration is also on sale for $2149, which is decent, but 16% more money for the 4090 verison isn’t too bad for 15% more FPS at 4K or 10% more FPS at 1440p.

Diminishing returns are at play at the top of Nvidia’s GPU stack, but with this sale that’s a bit less of an issue. Not to mention the extra 4GB of VRAM with the 4090 may be useful in future games.

These are some nice deals - but sales change over time. Our https://gaminglaptop.deals website is updated multiple times a day, so check it out regularly to save money 🤑

Tip of the Week - The Waiting Game

Don’t fall into the waiting trap!

“I’ll just wait for the next new thing” is a trap I’ve found myself in multiple times.

There will ALWAYS be new hardware coming, that’s just how tech works, progress continues to march on.

If you fall into this trap you’ll wait for something new to release, then instead of enjoying new games you might end up waiting for the next new thing to release, then the next, and so on.

But while waiting for some future promise of better performance, you’re missing out on actually having a new gaming laptop you can use today and enjoy now.

Sure, if there are rumors of some important next gen GPU coming in a few months, it can be worth waiting to see what happens. These sorts of announcements typically happen in January at CES, and then it usually takes a few weeks or months for new models to actually become available.

But with CES being 4+ months away, consider if it’s worth the wait and if you’ll actually be any better off waiting vs the fun you could be having in the meantime.
