Comments: Alright, this one is not cheap as far as RTX 4080 gaming laptops go - but hear me out.

We just reviewed this laptop, and overall it’s actually quite good. It’s the thinnest, lightest, most portable 16” gaming laptop available.

The compromise is it’s limited to soldered memory. Unfortunately in the US, the $750 cheaper RTX 4070 configuration only goes up to 16GB of RAM. If you want 32GB, you’ve got to spend more for this 4080 version.

Personally, if I were buying a laptop to use for the next few years, if I wasn’t able to upgrade the memory I’d want 32GB for future use.

Now this sale isn’t that big, but I believe it’s the first time the 4080 configuration has gone on sale - or at least this is the cheapest it’s been so far.

So if you’ve been waiting for the 32GB G16 to lower in price, your time has come.

CPU: Intel Core i7-13620H

Comments: This is a little on the more expensive side as far as RTX 4060 gaming laptops go, but HP’s Omen is a higher quality model compared to many others.

We’ve actually got the Legion 5 with RTX 4060 on the deals site for the same price, but it has an older processor and higher resolution screen.

Generally speaking, from our testing, AMD processors last longer when running on battery.

At the end of the day, both a solid mid-range gaming laptops. We chose to share the Omen this week as HP’s Omen series tends to go on sale less compared to Lenovo’s Legion series.

These are some nice deals - but sales change over time. Our https://gaminglaptop.deals website is updated multiple times a day, so check it out regularly to save money 🤑

Video of the Week

ASUS’s ROG Zephyrus G16 is the thinnest and lightest 16” gaming laptop we’ve ever tested. Overall it’s a great laptop - But there’s one big catch - Check it out 👇

Tip of the Week

You can extend the lifespan of your laptop by upgrading it - but upgrades are limited on what the laptop supports.

This is important to consider when buying a new laptop. If you choose one with more upgrade options, you can get more out of it and it may last you longer.

Some laptops have soldered memory that cannot be upgraded, you’re stuck with what you buy it with. These are typically the ones with “LPDDR” memory in our listings, so ideally go for 32GB instead of 16GB if your budget allows.

Some laptops may only have 1 M.2 slot for an SSD, while others may have up to 4 SSDs (almost enough to install COD!)

To make it more confusing, this isn’t always clear based on reading the spec sheet for a laptop.

Your best bet is to check out our gaming laptop reviews, as we show you the insides and mention what upgrade paths are and are not supported.
