More Black Friday Sales are Here!
Here are the best gaming laptop sales this week
Hello deal hunters!
It looks like most of the deals for Black Friday are already out now!
I’m expecting some more to hit on Friday itself, but many stores tend to run their sales for the entire week.
We’ll send out another email with the best deals on Friday if anything crazy appears - stay tuned!
This Week’s Best Deals
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800 Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 144Hz SSD: 512GB $699.99 at Best Buy Comments: This is the cheapest gaming laptop with RTX 4060 graphics we’ve ever seen! At least out of the options we recommend - we don’t suggest cheaper options like the MSI GF63 or Gigabyte G5 due to a combination of poor build quality and low GPU power limit (worse performance). We last shared this laptop about a month ago, but it’s come down a further $35 since that last deal. There are some downsides to consider though. The main one is the 7435HS processor does not have integrated graphics, so battery life is not good. But if you mostly use your laptop with the charger connected, then this is a great way to save some money and get RTX 4060 performance. The 4060 is a great mid-range sweet spot and can run modern games at 1080p no problem. Alternatively, you can get the LOQ with integrated graphics and faster Intel Core i5-13450HX processor from B&H for $70 more. |
CPU: Intel Core i9-14900HX GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 RAM: 16GB DDR5 Display: 16” 1920 × 1200 165Hz SSD: 1TB $999.99 at Best Buy Comments: This is another deal we originally shared a month ago, but it’s lowered an extra $50 since then! The Helios is a higher quality gaming laptop compared to the budget friendly LOQ above, and the higher price reflects that. That said, this deal is the new record low price for this model. Acer’s Helios range typically costs more money compared to others - but that’s because it’s a good laptop. That’s why I recently included it in my top 5 gaming laptops of 2024 video. |
CPU: Intel Core i7-13620H GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800 Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 144Hz SSD: 1TB $999.99 at Best Buy Comments: Alternatively, for the same price as the Helios above, you could instead consider this ASUS TUF with higher tier RTX 4070 graphics. The 4070 performs 20% faster in games compared to the 4060, so this would be a better choice if your goal is to maximize price to performance ratio. The build quality isn’t quite as nice compared to the Helios, but it’s not bad either - that’s the tradeoff here. More FPS, but also a bit more of a plastic build. You can get the 4070 for $100 less in a better built laptop - Lenovo’s Legion Slim 5 for $899 at Microcenter - but unfortunately like the LOQ, this one has the 7435HS with no integrated graphics, so bad battery life. Plus, it’s in-store pickup only, and not everyone lives near a Microcenter. |
CPU: Intel Core i7-13700HX GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800 Display: 18” 2560 × 1600 165Hz SSD: 1TB $1299.99 at Newegg Comments: If you want something bigger, this is the one for you! This laptop still has the same RTX 4070 graphics as the cheaper TUF above, so ultimately performance in games will be quite similar, but bigger laptops cost more money. Plus as discussed above, Acer’s Helios range just costs more money as it’s a better quality laptop. Gaming on an bigger screen is objectively a better experience, but the tradeoff is a bit less portability. This is the cheapest 18” deal we’ve got at the moment, as all the others have higher tier RTX 4080 or 4090 graphics, so at a minimum they’re $900 more. If you’re after more power, then Acer’s newer 2024 model of the Helios 18 with RTX 4090 is also currently at a record low price of $2399 at Best Buy. |
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 155H GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 RAM: 16GB DDR5 Display: 14.5” 2560 × 1600 120Hz SSD: 1TB $1249 at Walmart Comments: Alternatively if you want something smaller, Acer’s Helios Neo 14 is much more portable. This is the lowest price we’ve seen on a 14” gaming laptop with RTX 4070 graphics so far! Alternatives like ASUS’s TUF A14 are available for the same price - but with the lower tier RTX 4060 graphics. |

Tip of the Week - Limit Your Battery Charge Level!
Leaving your gaming laptop at 100% charge all the time is not healthy for battery longevity.
Many modern gaming laptops give you the option of setting a maximum charge level, typically around 70-80%.
Unfortunately this ability varies by laptop brand, some offer it as part of their control panel software or in the BIOS, while others do not - This is why I always mention it in our laptop reviews.
If you know that you’re mostly using your laptop with the charger connected, then you might as well limit the maximum charge level. You’re less likely to unplug the charger and need a full 100% charge at a moments notice.
But if you do use the battery often, then just let it charge up to 100% so that you have the power available when you need it most.
Either of these options are far better than needlessly burning through countless discharge and recharge cycles - that degrades the battery more.
