Epic Laptop Deals This Week!
Here are the best gaming laptop sales
This week is full of record low gaming laptop prices!
Amazon are running their Prime Big Deal Days over the next couple of days, and it seems like every other brand has jumped in with their own deals too.
This Week’s Best Deals
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600 Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 165Hz SSD: 512GB $849 at Walmart Comments: This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen this gaming laptop with these specs go for! Lenovo’s Legion Slim 5 is a solid mid-range gaming laptop, as we covered in our detailed review. But if you’re after an even cheaper RTX 4060 gaming laptop, Dell’s G15 is back at $765 when you sign up for their newsletter to get 10% off. |
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 8645HS GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4050 RAM: 16GB DDR5-5600 Display: 16” 1920 × 1080 144Hz SSD: 512GB $664.99 at Lenovo Comments: Here’s another record low price on a great budget gaming laptop! I put Lenovo’s LOQ in first place in my best budget gaming laptop comparison last year, and that’s still the case in 2024. But if you’re on a tight budget, HP’s Victus 15 is still available from $599 at Walmart with the same CPU, GPU and SSD. For $65 less it has half the RAM, a screen that’s not quite as good, and a downgrade in build quality. If you can justify it, the LOQ is worth the extra 11% higher price tag. |
CPU: Intel Core i9-14900HX GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4080 RAM: 32GB DDR5-5600 Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 240Hz SSD: 1TB $2099.99 at B&H Comments: Speaking of record low prices, Lenovo’s Legion Pro 7i with RTX 4080 graphics has also hit a new low this week! Yeah, the older 2023 model with 13th gen processor has been available for a bit less before, but they seem to have run out of stock of those. If you’re happy saving money with a last gen model, Acer’s Helios 16 with RTX 4080 graphics but i9-13900HX CPU and half the RAM is still available for just $1839. |
CPU: Intel Core i9-14900HX GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4080 RAM: 32GB DDR5-5600 Display: 18” 2560 × 1600 165Hz SSD: 1TB $2069.99 at Dell Sign up to Dell’s newsletter for 10% off. It can take a while to get the code email. Comments: If you want a bigger screen and a cheaper price, then Alienware’s m18 R2 is also at a new low price. 18” gaming laptops usually cost more money, not to mention Alienware gaming laptops usually cost more than most other brands - but that’s not the case with this deal. This new record low price is slightly less than Lenovo’s Legion Pro 7i above, while still offering similar performance - but with a larger screen. Gaming on a bigger screen looks better - that’s a fact. But the tradeoff is a heavier laptop, so if you need more portability then go for the smaller Legion above. If you want a big 18” laptop but can’t afford the RTX 4080, Acer’s Helios 18 is also on sale at Newegg for $1299 with RTX 4070 graphics. |
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7700S RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800 Display: 16” 1920 × 1200 165Hz SSD: 512GB $719.99 at Best Buy Comments: Full disclosure - this isn’t the cheapest we’ve seen this laptop go for, that would be $669, and it may happen again as we get closer to Black Friday next month. That said, this is still a good price for the RX 7700S, which is comparable to Nvidia’s RTX 4060 - but this is cheaper than any 4060 laptop sale we’ve got listed. |

Video of the Week - Best Budget Gaming Laptop GPU?
If you’re on a tight budget, this week’s comparison is for you!
I’ve compared NVIDIA’s RTX 2050 against Intel’s Arc A530M in the exact same Lenovo LOQ laptop in 20 games - but the result surprised me 🤯
The cheaper GPU actually ended up performing better - check it out 👇
Tip of the Week - When Are New Gaming Laptops?
You don’t want to spend your hard earned money on a new gaming laptop only for next gen hardware to launch the next day.
Of course this doesn’t mean your laptop suddenly sucks, but newer laptops may make the laptop you were considering even cheaper, as current gen becomes last gen.
New laptop hardware is usually announced at CES in January - the biggest tech event of the year, but sometimes announcements also come mid-year at Computex in June.
If January isn’t too far away, it might be worth waiting a little longer before buying to see what’s just around the corner.
That said, it can be tough, because the best deals of the year happen in November during Black Friday sales. So the choice may come down to snagging a great deal this year, or holding out for next gen hardware.
Once next gen models are available (usually 1-3 months after the announcements) there may still be some great deals on the last gen models that were previously available during Black Friday sales, as stores want to clear stock - it just depends on how long you can wait and what they still have available.
We’ve got more information in our top 3 best times of the year to buy a gaming laptop video.
