Early Black Friday Sales Have Begun!

Here are the best gaming laptop sales

Hello deal hunters!

We’ve got a bunch of new record low deals this week on the lead up to Black Friday!

This Week’s Best Deals

CPU: Intel Core i5-13420H

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4050

RAM: 16GB DDR4

Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 144Hz

SSD: 512GB

$499 at Walmart
Save $600 (55%)
Was $1099

Comments: Ok, this deal is insane. This is the cheapest RTX 4050 gaming laptop we’ve ever seen by about $100 - at least out of the models we recommend and not including dodgy options like the MSI GF63.

Before this deal, your only option was RTX 3050 6GB graphics at this price, so hopefully this is the start of 4050 models getting cheaper!

If you’ve got $500 for an entry level gaming laptop, this is the one right now. Without my crystal ball, it’s difficult to say if we’ll see higher quality models with the 4050 drop to a similar price over Black Friday.

CPU: Intel Core i5-13450HX

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060

RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800

Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 144Hz

SSD: 512GB

$769.99 at B&H
Save $340 (31%)
Was $1109.99

Comments: This is a record low price for this gaming laptop, and just great value for a solid mid-range chassis with RTX 4060 graphics.

Lenovo’s LOQ has been my favorite budget gaming laptop since 2023, and that hasn’t changed in 2024.

Technically we shared a cheaper RTX 4060 LOQ for $735 two weeks ago - but that one had AMD’s Ryzen 7 7435HS processor.

That’s the CPU that’s missing integrated graphics and has bad battery life, but this i5 is a more powerful CPU that does have integrated graphics, which I think is easily worth the extra $35.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060

RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800

Display: 15.6” 1920 × 1080 165Hz

SSD: 512GB

$719.99 at Dell
Save $380 (35%)
Was $1099.99
Note: Sign up to Dell’s newsletter to get emailed a 10% discount code, otherwise the price is $799.99. The code may take a few hours to get sent.

Comments: We’ve had this deal listed for about a month now, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less great! This is still the cheapest RTX 4060 gaming laptop we’ve ever seen in a decent chassis.

Compared to the LOQ above, in theory this might have better battery life due to the AMD Ryzen processor. Based on our testing, generally these last longer - but not always - unfortunately we have not reviewed this specific configuration, so don’t have data.

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900HX

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4080

RAM: 32GB DDR5-5600

Display: 16” 2560 × 1600 240Hz

SSD: 1TB

$1999.99 at B&H
Save $800 (29%)
Was $2799.99

Comments: The Legion Pro 7i is easily up there in my top 3 gaming laptops of 2024, and the price just dropped by $100 for the newer 2024 model.

This is the second lowest this configuration has gone on sale for in the last few months, but full disclosure, it briefly hit $1799 at Microcenter - but that was in store pick up only, and not everyone had that available.

Hopefully that means that the price will get even lower closer to Black Friday - but if not, I think this is a great option if you’ve got a $2000 budget.

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900HX

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090

RAM: 32GB DDR5-5600

Display: 18” 2560 × 1600 240Hz

SSD: 2TB

$2399.99 at Best Buy

Was $2999.99

Comments: This is another record low price for this gaming laptop - it’s $100 below the previous low.

Of course that’s less of a difference when you’re spending this much money on a gaming laptop, but a saving is a saving!

These bigger 18 inch models typically cost more money for the bigger screen. Objectively, gaming on a bigger screen is a better experience, but the tradeoff is less portability.

Note: This laptop changed between sold out and in stock three times while I wrote this email. At the moment it’s out of stock, but it’s such a good deal for an 18” 4090 machine that I decided to keep it in on the chance that it’s back in stock when you check. If it’s not, keep checking back 😀

These are some nice deals - but sales change over time. Our https://gaminglaptop.deals website is updated multiple times a day, so check it out regularly to save money 🤑

Video of the Week - Buy Now or Wait?

Early Black Friday sales have started! But should you save money with these deals, or wait for next gen hardware in 2025? Find out 👇

Tip of the Week - Laptop or Desktop?

It’s no secret that a desktop PC is more powerful and often cheaper compared to a gaming laptop, but which is right for you?

If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve already chosen the gaming laptop path as you’re hunting for those sweet deals!

But just in case you’re on the fence, here’s what it comes down to:

Do you need portability?

That’s the main key difference, to me everything else is secondary.

If you need portability, good luck taking a desktop PC, monitor, keyboard, mouse and big battery to work or school every day.

The fact is, even the $720 RTX 4060 gaming laptop listed above can run the latest games with good settings at 1080p, and in many cases even 1440p (source).

Many people spreading the good word of desktop PCs simply aren’t aware what modern laptops can do, and imagine laptops how they were 10 years ago - well, a lot has changed!
